Finding the right senior living community for a parent is one of the most emotionally complex decisions a family can face, and Allison made what could have been an overwhelming process feel manageable, thoughtful, and even hopeful. Our family came to her with strong — and sometimes conflicting — opinions about what was best for my dad. Rather than taking sides or steering us toward a quick decision, she listened carefully to each of us, acknowledged every concern, and gently helped us find common ground. She never made anyone feel unheard, and somehow always kept the focus on what mattered most: my dad's happiness and well-being. Her ability to navigate our family dynamics with such grace and sensitivity was nothing short of remarkable. What truly set her apart was how she treated my parents on the day of the visit. She was warm, unhurried, and genuinely kind — talking directly with my dad, making him feel like the center of the conversation rather than just the subject of it. When my parents were understandably indecisive (as anyone would be facing such a big life change), she never once made them feel rushed or like a burden. She answered the same questions multiple times with a smile, offered gentle reassurance, and gave them the space to process everything at their own pace. Thanks to her patience, compassion, and expertise, our family found a place we all feel good about — and more importantly, a place my dad is happy to call home. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Allison was helping me find senior living for my sister who was moving from Oakland to Durham.  Allison was wonderful finding several places within Judith's budget.  She helped by sending video of the 2 places we were really looking at.  I was impressed with her knowledge, the questions to ask and the information she already had in her head about the senior living in our area. Allison was a fantastic resource for me during my complex search for assisted living for both my parents, who are at different stages of different types of dementia. She listened to all the details about our situation, made insightful recommendations, visited many communities with me and was a knowledgeable partner and advocate throughout the entire process. She went above and beyond at every turn, even helpfully finding answers to other questions related to my parents' affairs but unrelated to my search for residential care. Even beyond her invaluable assistance, though, I had the sense from the beginning that she was motivated by a genuine desire to help me find the right solution for my family. I can’t recommend Allison highly enough! Her expertise and assistance in placing my father with advanced dementia into memory care was such an enormous help and weight lifted of my shoulders to ensure we were making the best decisions for my dad’s overall well-being and care.  She took time out of her busy schedule to set up and attend multiple tours with us and helped in facilitating placement for my dad along every step of the way. She has often been a resource for me to call and get her opinion on things or just be a shoulder to cry on when I needed it. Allison is awesome! I was looking for an assisted living facility that would eventually take Medicaid for a relative whose needs borderline assisted living and a nursing home. Allison did a wonderful job in assisting me with options for my aging father. She listened to the situation and the needs of my father over several phone calls.  She also did research on out of state options (which have different metrics and terms than NC) to help me get on equal footing for NC options.  Allison then composed a list of options for us to consider, compiled a spreadsheet of info on them and discussed with me.  After narrowing the list down, we spent a day touring 3 local facilities.  Another spreadsheet with very helpful comparisons of the 3 places. Everything was low key and absolutely no pressure.  Having these options in my back pocket gave me such comfort for when the time was right.  However, I was worried because we wanted to keep my father with family for as long as we could and I didn't want to frustrate anyone.  Allison was so helpful and understanding and again, no pressure.  In the end, my father passed away and we didn't end up using any of the facilities and it was ok.  I did not intend for it to work out this way but knew it was a possibility and talking to Allison about that was comfortable and normal. I had the pleasure of working with Allison after my mom had a stroke and needed an assisted living facility.  From the first call, she was very available and willing to do whatever it took to find a place for my mom within our monetary constraints. Allison helped me understand the process of finding reliable care and really listened to our needs. Being suddenly dumped into the foreign landscape of senior care and living is jarring but Allison helped me understand the steps and took the time to explain the intricacies to me.  She is very friendly and personable and really seems to care about what we, as a family, were going through. For those out there sitting on the fence about whether to use a service like this, it's time you hopped down off the fence.  Using Allison's service costs you nothing. Allison was a great partner in helping me navigate the very complicated world of IL, AL, and CCRC options for my Mom.  Having a full-time job and not much spare time to review the many, many options, and the, many, many different facilities, Allison took all of that off my plate.  She then came to me with the three best options that fit my top criteria and we were able to make the best decision for my Mom from that info that she compiled for all of her research.  She definitely made it much easier for me to navigate this process.
